The Mark Experience: Registration Open

Gary and Cathy Deddo will facilitate a study of the Gospel of Mark before the Denominational Celebration. In this seminar, we’ll spend our time studying together seven passages from the Gospel of Mark. We’ll get to know Jesus more deeply and personally so that our faith, hope, and love for him will be nourished. We’ll … Continue reading “The Mark Experience: Registration Open”

High Support, High Challenge – Grace Always!

Dear GCI Family and Friends, The phrase “High Support, High Challenge – Grace Always” is the ministry philosophy of Grace Communion International. We have a sign in the presidential suite to remind us of this every day. I would like to unpack this philosophy to help you better understand the depth of its meaning. Let’s … Continue reading “High Support, High Challenge – Grace Always!”

Cleveland Heights Thanksgiving Outreach

November 24, 2019, Grace Communion Cleveland (Cleveland Heights, Ohio) held an outreach for Thanksgiving Community Dinners. We also were able to feed about 50 people … Continue reading “Cleveland Heights Thanksgiving Outreach”

Paying Attention to Corporate Worship

Dear GCI Family and Friends, I was introduced to Marva Dawn as an author early on in my post-graduate work. Her book Unnecessary Pastor, which she co-wrote with Eugene Peterson, resonated as she opened my mind to the power of worship and how singing our faith unites us relationally to the heart and mind of Christ. … Continue reading “Paying Attention to Corporate Worship”

A Follow up to Readiness

In our last issue, we published an article from GCI President Dr. Greg Williams entitled Readiness. We received quite a bit of feedback including the question below. GCS President Dr. Gary Deddo graciously wrote the following response and agreed to publish it for the clarity of our readership. Question: I just read the article “Readiness” … Continue reading “A Follow up to Readiness”

Women in Church Leadership Forum

The following article was written by Charlotte Rakestraw, GCI Social Media & Communications Coordinator, after attending the 2019 Women’s Leadership Forum in Hickory. From being greeted at the hotel door, and meeting new faces the first night, to the end when we all knew each other’s name and felt like sisters in Christ, the Women … Continue reading “Women in Church Leadership Forum”

Australasia Pastor’s Conference

The following article was originally published in Life Together, a GCI Australasia, newsletter written by John McLean, Superintendent of Australasia. Earlier this year we had another wonderfully constructive and successful national—now Australasian—pastors conference. We are blessed with an outstanding group of pastors and ministry leaders in our region. It was a delight to share fellowship, … Continue reading “Australasia Pastor’s Conference”

Healthy Church

Dear GCI Family and friends, Health is a relative term. According to the World Health Organization, health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. This is an important distinction – especially as we focus on Healthy Church. We all experience the ups and … Continue reading “Healthy Church”

Rehab facility church

The following report is from Bob Miller, pastor of Grace Covenant Fellowship, GCI’s Birmingham, AL, congregation. Like most GCI congregations, we were small—averaging 15-20 in attendance—and praying for guidance to see how God wanted to use us. We were getting older and “church planting” seemed beyond our present gift mix, as well as beyond the … Continue reading “Rehab facility church”
