We are saddened to learn of the death of Grace Stokes, wife of retired GCI pastor Jim Stokes. Here is a note from Jim:
It is with mixed emotions that I am forced to tell you that after 64 years and five months of a very happy marriage, my beloved wife, Grace, has left me for someone else—Jesus Christ. Although I’ll miss her more than words can say, I know he will give her more joy, peace and happiness than I ever could. And after all, her happiness has been my life-long desire. I’m comforted knowing she will no longer face the devastating health problems she has had to endure lately.
She was affectionately known as Mom, Granny, Lady Grace, Gert and Amazin’ Gracie. Thanks to all of you who have brought so much love and joy into her life. I know we all will miss her sweet smile and loving ways.
She left this life on Wednesday, December 26.
Cards may be sent to Jim at this address:

Dear Jim,
My prayers are with you and the rest of the family. I had the wonderful privilege to meet you and Gracie years ago when I lived in Pasadena. In fact, you were even over at our place once. I vividly recall your fantastic sense of humor and warm hearts. We know that Gracie is in good hands and that many will have fond memories of her for many years to come as you have both touched many lives making us all smile.
Every blessing,
Santiago Lange

I am not sure but I believe I met you both in Belleville. I was in church in Belleville, and St. Louis before for several years 70’s and 80′. It is very hard at first when your mate dies but God opens doors. , I am doing things now, I could not have done when my Husband of 46 years was living. So may God be with you and bring you peace, joy and happiness you never thought possible.
Frances
