Feazell

On April 12 retired GCI vice president, Dr. J. Michael Feazell (pictured at left), received an award (pictured below) for outstanding community service from the Graduate School of Theology at Azusa Pacific University (APU) at its 30th anniversary celebration.

Mike's awardDr. Feazell, the first graduate of APU’s Doctor of Ministry program, joined 30 other alumni of graduate degree programs who received awards at the celebration. His contribution to GCI was summed up in these words of tribute:

“The award for outstanding community service is presented to Dr. J. Michael Feazell. Dr. Feazell received his Doctor of Ministry degree in 1998 and is most noted for being instrumental in leading Grace Communion International through a difficult but successful doctrinal transition and spiritual renewal. This monumental achievement was chronicled in his 2001 book entitled, The Liberation of the Worldwide Church of God, available from Zondervan Publishing. For outstanding community service and impact on a community and ministry through both leadership and vision, please join me in congratulating Dr. Feazell!”

This is a well deserved “medal of honor”. I know that our denominational transition is bound to have left behind painful “battle scars”. Our gratitude to you for courageously helping hold the course during very challenging times.

  8. To our beloved teacher of God, my best congratulations! You never know how many, perhaps a thousand or even a million souls, were transformed by the Almighty. These men experienced His love and you were very instrumental. Thank you God for letting us have Dr. Mike Feazell in our lifetime. Way to go ’til eternity! Congratulations and more power, Dr. Mike!

  9. Congratulations Mike!

Only God knows how much difference you have made to all of us, and the sacrifice, strain and selfless service you offered up. Your sermons and articles have changed the direction of many lives.
The YI interviews have added depth and breadth to our understanding. They have helped further open our hearts and minds to the wealth of Trinitarian theological thought outside our own walls and continually challenge us to examine sacred cows and misinformed thinking.
You have helped us realise that there is never a time or place in which we can set up permanent camp, there are always more lands over horizon to journey through theologically, to appreciate and be nourished by as the Spirit leads us deeper and deeper into the life of Jesus Christ and the fellowship of the Father.
May God continue to give you the health and strength to enable you to contribute further to our mutual walk with him. Blessings, Phil

I am so glad I finally got to meet you last year (2013); in Orlando. I was able to share with you how much your Mother (Marie), helped and encouraged me when I was in a tough situation.
