Prayer is requested for retired GCI-USA pastor/district superintendent Don Lawson and his wife Sue.
According to the couple’s son Don, Jr., Don had a stroke last week followed by an incident that involved lack of blood flow to his brain. While hospitalized, it was discovered that he has pneumonia. On top of all of this, Don continues to battle kidney failure and bone marrow cancer. Sue, who is in a nursing home, continues to deteriorate with Alzheimer’s disease.

Sorry to hear the news update on this fine man. It seems that our time before our entry into God’s Kingdom truly is similar to birth pangs. May God grant the Lawsons a reprieve from any more suffering.
We pray that Don and Sue will very specially experience God’s love and grace during this most difficult time. May the God of all comfort bring peace and relief.
With concern,
Santiago and Elke
Very serious health conditions to deal with. Our prayers go out to Don, Sue and all the family. Although I know the Lawsons almost exclusively by only reputation, that reputation of love, service, joy and mentoring shines like a beacon in the lives of many, many they have touched over the decades.
What a highly respected couple in the Lord’s service! It is a sorrow that multiple sufferings are present in these lives. Prayers for them that His purposes will be carried fully to completion as He acts in their behalf (Isaiah 64:4) JR & Hazel
The encouragement of the scriptures: II Cor. 4:16 “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” Don and Sue – You are in our constant prayers. With our love, Ray and Carol Meyer
