Prayer is requested for Rod Matthews, GCI Mission Developer for Southern Asia and the South Pacific.

Ruth and Rod Matthews

Rod, who is battling prostate cancer, is scheduled for surgery on October 20. It is likely that he will be hospitalized for 3-4 days followed by several weeks of recuperation at home. Rod reports that he is in good health otherwise, and is feeling well. He wrote that, “It’s a real blessing to be part of a worldwide caring family, all in the measureless care of our Heavenly Father.”

  3. Dear Rod and Ruth,

Be sure that we will be thinking of you in our prayers. We are all in God‘s loving hands. In this life we suffer pain and decay, but in the true life to come we will experience eternal and unimaginable joy in glorified bodies. Still, we pray that our loving Father will pour on you at this time His grace and grant you the gifts you both need the most. We are challenged but NEVER hopeless. Our fellowship has been greatly blessed by your ministry and faithful service.

    In Him,
    Santiago and Elke

  4. Rod & Ruth: I’ve heard it said that “Old age isn’t for sissies!” The warranties have run out on some of my parts. We pray for a successful surgery and healing.

  14. Good afternoon Rod,
So happy to hear that your operation went well. In fact, we showed a video recently made during last week’s church services about the ministry God has given you in Asia, etc. We will pray for you and your wife that this time of recovery will go well and in His will that he gives you a complete healing.
