Millhuffs’ grandson wed

Pastor Ted and Lila Millhuff of GCI’s Tucson, Arizona congregation, are pleased to announce the wedding of their grandson, Thales D. Millhuff, III, to Katelyn Jean Moen on August 8 in Snohomish, Washington. The wedding was held outdoors in a beautiful country setting. Grandpa Ted officiated. The happy newlyweds celebrated their honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii.

Upcoming conferences in Canada

Here are announcements about two upcoming conferences being conducted by GCI in Canada.

Engage 2015 (engaging God, engaging people) is a new conference for older teens and young adults (university/college age), held in beautiful Penticton, B.C. October 10-12. Anthony Rice given 25 year honors

Athony Rice 25th presentationDuring one of the sessions of GenMin’s Louisiana Summer Camp held near New Orleans, Pastor Anthony Rice (who founded the camp and continues as one of its key leaders), was honored for completion of 25 years of GCI employment. During most of those years, Anthony has pastored GCI’s congregations in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, Louisiana.

In the picture at right, Regional Pastor Ted Johnston (at right) is presenting Anthony (with his mother Ginny Rice at his side) his 25-year plaque and two watches (for Anthony and his wife).

Canadian pastor wed

Congratulations to GCI-Canada pastor Fraser Henderson and his bride Julie Shaw. The couple was wed on May 30. Fraser’s father, James Henderson, officiated. The intimate ceremony (pictured below) was held in the back yard of the home where the couple will reside.

Fraser serves as pastor of the Corwall, Ontario congregation and associate pastor of congregations in Ottawa and Smiths Falls.

Mulladys’ 50th anniversary

Grace of God Fellowship, GCI’s congregation in Tucson, Arizona, recently celebrated the 50th wedding anniversary of Assistant Pastor and Treasurer Jim Maullady and his wife Marilyn. The couple married in Dayton, Ohio on June 5, 1965. They now have six children, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Ten family members attended the congregation’s celebration worship service.

After the sermon, Lead Pastor Ted Millhuff conducted a Renewal Of Vows Ceremony for the Mulladys. Following the service there was a dinner featuring fine food and background music from the 1950s and 60s.

Tom Ecker retires

Please join us in congratulating Tom and Alberta Ecker. Tom recently retired from GCI employment having served in Canada and the U.S. in various capacities for nearly 42 years. Tom’s last assignment was as senior pastor of GCI’s congregations in Beaumont and High Desert, California. (For more information about Tom and Alberta, click here.) As shown in the pictures below, GCI’s Home Office in Glendora, California recently honored the Eckers at an employee meeting.

Festival in Spain

GCI in Spain extends to GCI members and friends a warm invitation to come to Majorca this fall for a worship festival celebrating God’s love and grace in Christ. Women’s retreat in October

GCI women and their female friends are invited to attend a fall women’s retreat sponsored by the GCI congregation in Birmingham, Alabama. The retreat will be held on October 9-11, 2015 at the St. Bernard Abbey Retreat and Conference Center (www.stbernardretreat.com/) in Cullman, Alabama (north of Birmingham).

bedThe retreat theme is “Eyes Fixed on Jesus,” based on Hebrews 12:2. Retreat gatherings will explore many topics, looking for ways to “fix our eyes on Jesus.” Guest speakers will be GCI leaders Tammy Tkach, Ginny Rice, Pat Halford, Becki Brown and Barbara Dahlgren. Music will be provided by Ann Hartmann (http://annhartmann.com/) and Mary Jo Leaver (Music to the Eyes ministry).

The retreat costs $125/person (double occupancy), which includes registration, two nights’ lodging and four meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday).
