Karen Torgerson

Karen Torgerson, wife of our Wisconsin Dells’ pastor John Torgerson, has been fighting a cold that has impaired her lung functions to the point where she had to be hospitalized and put on a respirator. Karen has been losing lung function a little bit at a time for a number of years but has been able to lead a relatively normal life by using a portable oxygen generator. John said that the Doctors do not know at this point if her lungs will return to her pre-cold levels.

  1. I will update – Doug Johannsen did an excellent job of summarizing the situation as of Monday. On Tuesday the pulmonary specialist was much more positive. Correcting a collapsed lung restored the desired CO2 level and corrected low blood pressure. A breathing test showed that Karen was not able to breath on her own. Wednesday (yesterday) she passed the breathing test for a whole 45 minutes – such great news! The breathing tube could not come out yet because a swollen area in her throat will close up. So getting past that milestone is the next step. Things look much, much better.

  2. May God, through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, keep you snuggled in His loving, compassionate and healing arms during this difficult time. Do hope that with the arrival of each new day you are much improved and on your way to a full recovery.
