GCI pastor retires

Thanks and congratulations to Steve and Mary Ann Brown! Steve recently retired from 40 years of GCI employment, pastoring churches in Michigan, Missouri, West Virginia, Ohio and Florida. Here are pictures of a party in the Browns’ honor, held recently in Bradenton, FL (Mary and Steve are at left in the picture below, left). Four of the couple’s five children joined in the celebration.

  1. Dear Steve and Mary Ann,

I think not much can be more satisfying for a pastor as to experience on his retirement the celebration and sincere outpouring of love from those he has served faithfully in Christ. Thanks Mary Ann for sharing Steve with the many you have encouraged, comforted and discipled over the decades. I know these “ministry sacrifices” are not always recognized as they surely should be. But, God, our audience of ONE, has written your names in the book of eternity. Well done!

As you turn the next pages in your life journey, we pray that our Lord will shower you with peace and abundant joy.

    In Him,
    Santiago and Elke

  2. Steve and Mary Ann,
Thank you for all of your years of faithful service in Jesus’ ministry. Enjoy your retirement. God bless.

  3. Congratulations Dear Friends. You have been faithful servants down through the years. Our Very Best Wishes for a wonderful retirement, from all your friends in the Jacksonville, Florida congregation (Christian Family Fellowship)

  4. Steve, thanks and congratulations on retirement from full-time pastoral ministry. 2 thoughts: with a shepherd’s heart, you will not retire from ministry, you’ll just slow down and re-shift your ministry focus. And, as I was told by Ron Kelly after I retired, get ready to re-invent yourself! God Bless the next chapter of your story. JR
