Ralph “Dewey” Peterson passed away on Thursday, June 13. Dewey was the pastor/facilitator of New Beginning Fellowship a GCI home church in Crossville, TN for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Georgia Peterson, his four children, Scott, Mike, Jennifer and Joel, along with 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
He lived a rich life dedicated to the service of others and faithfulness in Christ.

Our hearts go out to you during this most difficult time. No words can fill the void you must be experiencing. And yet, we hold on to the promise of the resurrection. Ralph has departed just for a while and he is safe in the Lord until the time you will see him again.

Dewey was one of the most Christ-like person I have ever met! He was a very humble, meek, transparent and strong individual. His gentle touch, caring smile and authentic self-control endeared him to everyone who met him. He took me many years to discover that he had a PhD…what a man. May his light continue to shine!

It was my great pleasure to work alongside Dewey and Georgia during the years I served as their Regional Pastor. Dewey was a dedicated servant-leader. Dewey and Georgia generously opened their home to provide a meeting place for the small GCI congregation in the area. I was blessed to be able to visit there and I fondly remember the many times Dewey and I spoke on the phone and corresponded by email. I will miss him greatly until we meet again. My prayers are with Georgia and the rest of the family as they grieve their loss.
Dewey Peterson was director of Spokesman Club in Toronto, Canada in the late 1980’s. He was full of encouragement and humility in his wise guidance and evaluations – many enjoyable times were spent with him. He was very gracious in making his home available for club meetings whenever necessary. Look forward to meeting him in the future.
